History

Picture of Surrounding Woodland

Strata Florida is more than just a place. Although the landscape seems rather empty, over thousands of years, humans have spread across it, leaving marks and signs, which are there for us to read.

Most noticeable on the current site are the remains of the Cistercian Abbey and the Farm buildings that survive. There are also ancient woodlands to be found, hillforts, homes and plenty of other glimpses into the past.

Here is just a little insight into what we know of Strata Florida at the moment.
